Call for Abstracts

     Abstracts should be concise but informative, not exceeding 300 words.  Abstracts may be submitted in English or in Spanish to Ms. Ivonne Blandon.  Abstracts may be submitted on floppy disks (3 ½ “) or electronically via e-mail to Ms. Blandon at ivonne.blandon@tpwd.state.tx.us

The deadline for abstracts is March 1, 2004.

Abstract Format

Example

Title of abstract should be in Times New Roman or similar text using 12 point letters and centered

     The abstract should be in 12 point letters and use 1” margins on all sides.  Abstract for research papers should summarize the objectives, methodology, results, and significance of the work.  Abstracts of review papers should delimit the areas of tarpon biology being reviewed and summarize the important conclusions of the paper.  Abstracts should not exceed 300 words, but should provide an adequate description of the topic being presented. 

      Indicate the audio visual equipment required (e.g., slide projector, overhead projector, computer projection [Microsoft PowerPoint will be available on a PC.  You may bring a PC or Mac laptop to be connected to the projector via video cable]).  Each presentation will be allotted 20 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions and discussion.

      Indicate whether a manuscript will/will not be submitted for a special issue of Contributions in Marine Science.
